Topic: El Paso County Public Works Transportation Division – Roadway and Airport Projects
Sal Alonzo was born and raised in El Paso, TX. After graduating from El Paso High School in 1993, Sal attended both UTEP and NMSU where he graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Civil Engineering. He worked for 10 years at CSA Design Group, a local consulting firm, where he oversaw land development. This allowed him to work with developers throughout El Paso, as he grew in knowledge and experience. In 2013, he left CSA Design Group to join the El Paso County Public Works Department. Since joining the County, Sal has taken on the role of overseeing the Transportation Division, which also includes transit and aviation. As an integral part of his projects, Sal has the privilege to work closely with TXDOT, MPO, UTEP, local agencies, and various engineering consulting firms.
