DESCRIPTION:Early Birds pay $30 through PayPal\, click here or to RSVP\, click here by Monday\, October 28th.\nPay $35 after Monday\, October 28th or at the door.\nPayPal\, click here or to RSVP\, click here.\n \nGuest Speaker\nOlaf Brunjes\, RAS\n          \n                                                                                                                                    \nTopic: Eliminating Architectural Barriers: Engineer’s Edition\n \nSpeaker Bio:\nBorn in Mexico but raised in the Texas Panhandle\, I returned to my native country to study architecture at Universidad Autonoma de Ciudad Juarez. After graduation\, I worked for some architectural firms for 16 years. The last ten years were with a firm that helped me with what would ultimately become my career outside of architectural design. It was there where I became a Registered Accessibility Specialist\, a license that I have held for 14 years. Once the pandemic hit our region and work decreased\, I was forced to go out and start my own business. Since 2019 I have dedicated my entire work life to Brunjes Accessibility Consulting\, working exclusively on accessibility related design consulting. This has given me the opportunity to work on many projects of all sizes\, not only in El Paso but throughout the United States.

SUMMARY:Meeting - Solidarity Engineering
DESCRIPTION:$5 for PDH certificate. To pre-pay through PayPal\, click here.\n\n\n\nClick here for virtual meeting. Attending virtual meeting is free.\n\n\n\n\n\nGuest Speaker: \n\n\n\nErin Hughes\, P.E.\, Chloe Rastatter\, Christa Cook\n\n\n\nFounders of Solidarity Engineering\n\n\n\nTopic: Humanitarian Crisis Engineering; Managing Technical and Non-technical Solutions with Social and Political Implications\n\n\n\nBiography\n\n\n\nSolidarity Engineering’s three founders – Erin Hughes\, Christa Cook\, and Chloe Rastatter – met at the US/Mexico border after all hearing the same podcast in November 2019\, about the refugee camp that had formed in Matamoros\, Mexico. When they learned about the camp’s limited access to clean water and sanitation\, the three individually decided they needed to do something. When each of them reached out\, they were told that there was no technical or engineering presence at the camp\, but that they were welcome to come down and see how they could help. \n\n\n\nAfter working together for months\, completing projects in partnership with the asylum seekers\, Global Response Management (GRM)\, the Resource Center of Matamoros (RCM)\, and other partner NGOs\, the three engineers decided to formalize. Solidarity Engineering was inaugurated in November 2020\, one year after the podcast\, that inspired them to change their lives\, aired. \n\n\n\n\n\nSolidarity Engineering\n\n\n\n\n\nVirtual meeting is free\, PDH certificate is $5 via PayPal. \n\n\n\nPlease click the link below to join the webinar: \n\n\n\nhttps://zoom.us/j/99817344679?pwd=OXVOMFh6NE5XQUJmSnhvVW54ZUZoUT09 \n\n\n\nMeeting ID: 998 1734 4679 \n\n\n\nPasscode: 267157 \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nContact Sergio Delgado if you have any questions.
