Reza managed and/or participated in several cutting edge research projects sponsored by the US Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL)\, Army Corps of Engineers\, the US Air Force Civil Engineering Support Agency (AFCESA)\, US Department of Transportation (USDOT)\, and Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to name a few. Reza conducts research in the area of computational mechanics with emphasis on geomaterials. His main area of expertise is constitutive modeling of civil engineering materials and its relevance to the design and analysis of infrastructure systems. Specifically\, the focus of his research is modeling\, design and analysis of multi-layer systems such as highway pavements and airfield runways.  In 2012\, Reza joined the civil engineering department of the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP)\, where he teaches courses on geotechnical engineering\, unsaturated soil mechanics and mechanistic pavement design.  Currently he is the Principal Investigator (PI) of four externally funded research projects at UTEP. Reza serves as a committee member in two national expert tasks groups in the Transportation Research Board (TRB) of the National Academies of Science. \nTo RSVP\, click here.\nReservation deadline is 12:00 PM Tuesday\, June 23\, 2015.
